STEAM education at Williamstown High School seeks to provide innovative programs, new technologies, and hands-on learning experiences to shape the way our students engage with Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.
Our STEAM Education Centre at Bayview Campus (Room 13) has become a hub for exploration and creativity, with virtual reality (VR) at its core. Specifically, in Year 7 Humanities and Year 8 English, students can enhance their creative writing, explore mise-en-scène in film analysis, and assess liveability in Geography with the help of our VR apps.
Through our partnership with Wyndham Tech School, students participate in industry-led programs such as the Women in Tech initiative and Deadly Tech Day, where they engage with professionals from Amazon Web Services and other leading STEM fields.
The GHD STEM Pathways program provides Year 10 students with hands-on professional experience in digital mapping, collaboration, and STEM career exploration, highlighting the real-world applications of STEAM education.
