Lunchtime and After School Activities
Williamstown High School has a great history of supporting students both within and outside of the classroom to extend their skills, interests and talents. Through the dedication of staff, students have the opportunity to explore their interests through lunchtime/after school activities.
These activities are exceptionally important in our school setting as we strongly encourage our students to pursue their interests. We acknowledge the research that students who are happy and engaged in their schooling have an increased focus across their curriculum, are likely to be successful in their academic and personal growth, and become outstanding members of the school and broader communities.

International Camps
2025 World Challenge:
The World Challenge program to Nepal offers students a unique opportunity to step beyond the classroom and into one of the world’s most culturally rich and geographically stunning regions. This community and culture expedition immerses students in a way few family holidays ever could, trekking through the Himalayas, engaging with local Nepalese communities, and contributing to grassroots projects that make a lasting difference. Students in Years 10 and 11 will have the chance to be part of this life-changing experience in late 2025.
2025 Arts Trip USA:
This immersive Arts-focused trip to New York offers students a rare opportunity to explore the heart of modern media, visual art, design, theatre, and performance in one of the world’s most iconic cultural capitals. Students will participate in hands-on workshops, guided gallery tours, studio visits, and live performances that directly align with the VCE Study Designs of the Arts subjects they are undertaking. From Broadway to world-class museums like MoMA and the Met, the itinerary is thoughtfully curated to reinforce and extend classroom learning in a real-world context. Students in Years 11 and 12 who are currently studying a VCE Arts subject will be eligible to attend
2026 France Study Tour
The 2026 France Study Tour offers students an unforgettable immersion into French language and culture. The tour begins with six days in the vibrant southern city of Montpellier, where students will attend a French language school each morning, followed by local excursions in the afternoons to explore the city's historic charm and nearby towns such as Nîmes, Arles and Carcassonne. In the evenings, students will stay with French homestay families, providing a rich opportunity to practise the language in a real-world context and experience everyday French life. The second week takes students to Paris for a packed itinerary of iconic cultural experiences. From ascending the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe to exploring world-famous museums like the Louvre and Musée d'Orsay, students will also enjoy wandering through picturesque Parisian streets, dining at well-known restaurants, and visiting key landmarks. In Paris, the group will stay together in a hostel, making the most of every moment in the City of Light.
Students in Years 10 and 11 in 2026 will be eligible to apply, but only those planning to study VCE French will be considered for the trip.
2026 Indonesia Study Tour
The Indonesia study tour begins in Yogyakarta, Central Java. Yogyakarta is considered the centre of Javanese culture, and it is also a major tertiary education hub in Indonesia. Many former WHS students have studied in Yogyakarta as part of their Australian tertiary studies. There’s a lot of history, art, and culture to enjoy here, including visits to the ancient Buddhist and Hindu temples Borobudur and Prambanan.
The trip then moves to Jakarta, Indonesia’s capital city for our Sister-School visit with Labschool Kebayoran. Here students get to have a once in a lifetime experience: a homestay with an Indonesian family. This invaluable experience provides students a cultural immersion like no other; in which they live the day-to-day life of a young person in bustling Jakarta.
Finally, our trip ends in Bali for some rest, recreation, and reflection. Here students develop a strong sense of the diversity that exists across the 17,000 islands of the Indonesian archipelago.
Students in Years 8-11 in 2026 will be eligible to apply, but only those planning to continue their study of Indonesian will be considered for the trip.
