A factsheet summarising the Year 7 placement process is available here to complement the Year 6 to 7 Placement Information Pack for Parents and Carers.
Families at government schools receive the Placement Information Pack for Parents/Carers (for the 2026 school year) from their primary school.
Only families at non-government primary schools (Catholic, Independent, home educated or other) can access this pack here. The pack contains: Application for Year 7 Placement 2026 Form and Privacy Notice.
29 April 2025: Williamstown High School Open Night
9 May 2025:
Closing date for families at government primary schools to return the Application for Year 7 Placement 2026 Form to their primary school. Families at a non-government primary schools must email this completed form directly to us at enrolmentsb@willihigh.vic.edu.au by this date.
1 July 2025:
Families at government primary schools are notified of the outcome of their application by their primary school. Families at non-government primary schools are notified of their application outcome by Williamstown High School or another school listed in their preference list.
2 July 2025:
Williamstown High School sends families that have been offered a place a welcome letter affirming their acceptance of our offer.
Families that have not been offered a place can commence lodging a written non-placement appeal to us using the official Year 6 to Year 7 Transition Placement Appeal Form. Government primary schools will provide families with this form and assist with this process. Families from non-government schools can contact enrolmentsb@willihigh.vic.edu.au to access this form.
Term Three
From 21 July 2025:
Families who have accepted our offer will be sent information regarding our Select Entry Accelerated Learning (SEAL) program, Accelerated Sports program, Instrumental Music program, 2026 Year 7 camp and other administrative information.
25 July 2025:
Closing date for families to lodge the Year 6 to Year 7 Transition Placement Appeal Form to enrolmentsb@willihigh.vic.edu.au.
5 August 2025:
Closing date for families who have lodged the Year 6 to Year 7 Transition Placement Appeal Form to have received a written notification of the appeal outcome. Families who have been unsuccessful in their appeal to us can refer their appeal to the applicable Regional Director. Government primary schools will provide families with information regarding this process. Non-government school families can contact enrolmentsb@willihigh.vic.edu.au.
12 August 2025:
All families at government primary schools return their Year 7 Placement Acceptance Slip to their child’s government primary school, even if the child will be attending a Catholic or Independent school.
19 August 2025:
Closing date for families to refer their appeal to the applicable Regional Director.
Term Four
10 October 2025:
Regional Directors notify families, in writing, of the outcome of their non-placement appeal.
14 October 2025:
Families who had appealed to the Regional Director must submit an updated Year 7 placement updated Acceptance slip to their child’s primary school to finalise their enrolment.
27 October 2025:
Williamstown High School Year 7 (2026) Parent Information Evening.
From the 1 December 2025:
Information sent to families regarding the upcoming Orientation Day.
9 December 2025:
Orientation Day for all Year 6 students (Year 7 2026).
