Yesterday, the History Revolutions class was very privileged and fortunate to have a zoom seminar with question from the renowned and pre-eminent historian on the French Revolution in Australia, Professor Peter McPhee.
He serves as a professorial fellow at The University of Melbourne having previously been the university’s inaugural provost creating and implementing the Melbourne Model. He has published widely on modern France, including Robespierre: A Revolutionary Life, A Social History of France 1789-1914, Living the French Revolution, 1789-1799 and most recently, Liberty and Death in 2016. He was also elected as a fellow to the Australian academy of the Humanities in 1997 and made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2012.
The students have described it as ‘wonderful’, insightful’, ‘amazing’ and one student ‘described it as the highlight of their Year 12 History Revolutions subject so far!’
They all wanted to pass their gratitude and praise to Professor McPhee and we so appreciative of him taking the time to talk to them.
